Microsoft awards college tuition scholarships each year to encourage students to pursue studies in Computer Science and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. Recipients will be awarded in recognition of their demonstrated passion for technology, academic excellence and leadership while working to push the software industry forward.
Virginia Space Grant Consortium
- STEM Research Scholarship, Deadline February 13, 2017 -- The VSGC Undergraduate STEM Research Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $8,500 to rising juniors and seniors who are enrolled full-time in a program of study in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) and have a specific faculty-mentored research project that has NASA or aerospace relevance.
- STEM Bridge Scholarship March 13, 2017 -- Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) provides renewable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Bridge Scholarships of $1,000 to 2016-2017 sophomore students from any federally recognized minority group enrolled full-time in a program of STEM at one of the five Virginia Space Grant member universities.

A major goal of the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is to help produce the engineers and scientists of the future. While opportunities for careers in aerospace have expanded, the number of talented students pursuing degrees in mathematics, engineering and the sciences has declined.
The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field.

GEM offers MS and Ph.D. level students an outstanding opportunity and access to dozens of the top Engineering and Science firms and Universities in the nation. The GEM Fellowship was designed to focus on promoting opportunities for individuals to enter industry at the graduate level in areas such as research and development, product development, and other high level technical careers. GEM also offers exposure opportunities to a number of opportunities in academe.
